Cooking Class Vacation Itinerary
Tuscany Cooking Classes in Lucca, Italy
Saturday –Arrival in Pisa or Florence. Transfer from Pisa or Florence to the San Luca Palace Hotel. Settle in and relax before the welcome dinner in the hotel, where you will be greeted by your instructor, Giuseppe, who will go over the schedule for the week.
Sunday –After breakfast at the hotel, Giuseppe will walk with you to the professional kitchen in the historical center for the first cooking class. Today’s lesson runs from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM and will focus on appetizers, soups, risotto and polenta. After a lunch based on your creations, you will have a guided walking tour of the town of Lucca. Your evening is free.
Monday –Breakfast at the hotel. Free day. Take advantage of one or more of our excursion offerings or feel free to explore the countryside on your own.
Tuesday – After breakfast at the hotel, Giuseppe will take you to the old shops of the town of Lucca and visit the ancient local market to buy the ingredients for today’s cooking lesson. Today’s cooking lesson runs from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and will focus on making fresh handmade pastas and typical sauces, main courses, and side dishes. After a lunch based on your creations, you have the afternoon and evening free to participate in an excursion or enjoy some down time.
Wednesday – Breakfast at the hotel. Free day. Take advantage of one or more of our excursion offerings or feel free to explore the countryside on your own.
Thursday - After breakfast, you will begin your final cooking class with Giuseppe. Today’s lesson runs from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM and will focus on Focaccias, artisan-produced cured meats and cheeses and desserts. After a lunch based on your creations, you have the afternoon free to relax, enjoy some shopping or walk the walls of the city. This evening you will enjoy a farewell dinner with Giuseppe at a picturesque restaurant in the hills above Lucca, where you will partake of the authentic Tuscan food you have come to appreciate. After dinner, you will be taken back to the hotel for your last night at the San Luca Palace.
Friday –We say farewell to charming Lucca and unforgettable Tuscany. Transfer to Pisa or Florence.
