Cooking Class Vacation Itinerary
Cooking Classes in Portugal
Day 1 – Sunday – Arrive in Pinhao. Settle in and relax at the hotel before meeting your fellow cooking class participants and chef Joao Santos at a welcome dinner at the Vintage House restaurant, where you will have your first introduction to typical Portuguese food.
Day 2 – Monday, 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM – After breakfast at the hotel, your cooking adventure begins. Today’s lesson runs from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM and will focus on mini sauté sausage pavet with bean and crunchy sausage, roasted kid “à Transmontana”, pears in citrine and muscatel syrup with vanilla ice-cream, and café with petit fours. After a lunch based on your creations, you have the afternoon free to participate in an excursion, explore the area on your own, or enjoy some down time.
Day 3 – Tuesday – Today you have the full day free to participate in an excursion, explore the area on your own, or enjoy some down time.
Day 4 – Wednesday, 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM – After breakfast at the hotel, you will return to the restaurant at around 10:30 AM and begin your final cooking class. Today’s lesson runs from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM and will focus on amuse bouche & White Port, chicken surprise with vegetables and green sauce, codfish gratinee with spinaches and olives, and tomato cherry comfit, veal loin with S. Jorge cheese, vegetables spaghetti, and Vintage sauce, and, chocolate paddy with hazelnut. After a lunch based on your creations, you have the afternoon free to do some shopping, participate in an excursion, or enjoy some down time.
Day 5 - Thursday – Breakfast at the hotel and check out. We say farewell to the hills of Pinhao and the glistening Douro River. Transfer to the Porto airport or train station.
